Sudha Murthy Biography

Eminent English and Kannada writer, Sudha Murthy, born on 19 August 1950, is a social worker. She worked with many organizations for the welfare of the common man. She was popular for her philanthropic work through the Infosys Foundation.

She works for the betterment of society and rural development. Her mission is to provide government aided schools with computer education and libraries. Apart from all her social work,She also taught computer science. She is also a recognized author of several fictional novels. She is also a member of the Gates Foundations Healthcare Initiative.

Early Age and Education:


Sudha Murthy was born on 19 August 1950, in Survalgi, Jamalakhandi, Karnataka, India. She was raised by her maternal grandparents. These childhood experiences form the historical basis of her first notable work of how I taught my grandmother, sensible and otherwise, and other stories. Murthy holds a B.E. from BVB Electronic Engineering Faculty of Engineering and Technology (now known as KLE University of Technology), received first ranking in its class and gold medal from the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Murthy did her MA in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science, finished first in her class and received a gold medal from the Indian Institute of Engineers.


How Sudha Murthy helped her husband to establish Infosys:


Very few people know about the achievements of Sudha Murthy. She is leading the movement towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) alone, she has worked for nearly a decade to transform children's lives in the heart of rural Karnataka to give them access to food and education. She is a writer with 92 books in almost every Indian language under her belt.

We draw inspiration from her benevolence and simplicity, but Sudha Murthy has played a very big and important role in her life. She gave up her  career and personal life to help NR Narayana Murthy make his Infosys dream come true.

Social activity:


Murthy Infosys Foundation is a public charity established in 1996 and is one of the Murthy Trustees. Through the Foundation, it has built 2,300 homes in flood-affected areas. Murthy's social work includes healthcare, education, women's empowerment, public hygiene, arts and culture and grassroots poverty alleviation.Her vision of a library for each school resulted in the creation of  libraries. 

She is helping rural areas by building 16,000 public toilets and several hundred toilets in Bangalore city. She has managed help in natural disasters such as tsunamis in Tamil Nadu and Andaman, earthquakes in Kutch, storms in Gujarat, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and floods in Karnataka and Maharashtra. The Government of Karnataka awarded her  the prestigious literary award, the ' Attimabbe Award' for her literary work for the year 2011-12.

Early and personal life:


Sudha Chandran was born in Mumbai. She said in a interview that she was born and raised in Mumbai, but her family originally hails from Vayalur in Tiruarapalli, Tamil Nadu. Her grandparents, who were fourth generation, moved from Tamil Nadu to Palakkad, Kerala. Her father K.D. Handhand, he worked at USIS and is a former actor. Sudha Chandran earned her B.A. From Mithibai College in Mumbai and later received a master's degree in economics.

In May 1981, at the age of 16, in Tamil Nadu, Chandran suffered an accident in which his legs were injured. She received initial medical treatment for her injuries at a local hospital and was then admitted to Vijaya Hospital in Madras. Doctors found that gangrene had formed in her right leg, requiring amputation. Chandran says that this period was the most difficult time of her life. She later gained some mobility with the help of the Jaipur Foot Prosthesis. She danced two years later and performed in India, Saudi Arabia, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen and Oman. . Her biography is part of the curriculum for school children between 8 and 11 years of age.

Sudha Chandran married Assistant Principal Ravi Dang in 1994. She received an honorary doctorate from Invertis University, Bareilly.


Career:


Sudha Chandran has made several films in various languages. Her films include the 1984 Telugu film Mayuri, from where she was inspired by her story. The 1986 film Nache Mayuri was a Hindi remake of Telugu origin, in which the cast was changed to accommodate North Indian sensibilities besides Sudha. She was awarded the 1986 Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards for her performance in Mayuri.

Her career in television series includes Ekta Kapoor, produced by Kaahin Kissii Rose, where she played the role of Ramola Sikand, which became an instant hit. She is considered one of the most outrageous stars of Indian television, known for her cutting-edge sarees, chunky jewelry and designer bindis. Since then, she has acted in various television shows like K Street Pali Hill in which she played the role of Gayatri Kaul. The drama was produced by Ekta Kapoor for Star Plus.

She played the role of a rich brat's mother in Kuch Iss Tara, which aired on Sony television and was also produced by Ekta Kapoor. Recently she has participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on Sony TV. She has also worked in Tamil series such as Kalam and Arasi. Dance seems to be his passion, not only that she has also established a dance academy, Sudha Chandran Academy of Dance in Mumbai, which has branches in Mumbai and Pune.

Ravikumar Dang, Sudha's husband is the executive director of the school. Sudha is often cited as a symbol of "will power". Currently one of his projects includes replacing Aishwarya and playing the role of Bhuvan in Thendral.

Mayanti Langer was born on 8 February 1985 in Delhi, India. Since her father Sanjeev Langer was an army man in the Indian Army, he grew up in a barrack and used to do various sports activities as a child. During this time, he developed an interest in sports, especially soccer.

Her interest in football grew while She was in the United States. She was on her college football team and became a guest presenter for the FIFA Beach Football broadcast.
